Who doesn't love trimming the tree, decking the halls, and all of the other song-worthy activities? It's a nice nostalgic feeling when you get to hang some of the same things year-to-year (that ornament you made when you were 10, for example), but it's also fun to add a few new things into the mix! 5 Ways To Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays Starting Now When looking to refresh your holiday decor, reading up on the top holiday trends for 2023 can point you in the right direction. This year, Pinterest and Anthropologie teamed up to create a dreamy holiday show house filled with whimsy, twinkle lights, and lots of decorating inspiration. Even better, all of it is shoppable on their Pinterest page. Here are four of our favorite ideas that are totally worth stealing for your own home. This year a few different mantle searches skyrocketed on Pinterest, but the largest surge was all about large fireplace and mantle decor. There was a 290 percent increase! Think big knit stockings that can fit plenty of presents, layers of thick green garland, and cascading twinkle lights that flow all the way down the sides of the fireplace. This look is also about the fireside accessories like rustic log holders and mini trees. Other trendy mantle options? "Country mantles" (up 55 percent) and "Western mantles" (up 90 percent). Consider layering in some wood stocking holders and burlap garland to hit these marks. Vintage Decorations Yes, some of your new things should be old! "Vintage Christmas" searches were up 290 percent and it makes sense. Grabbing antique items is an eco-friendly way to decorate for the holidays and a great way to find unique items. The easiest way to get this look is by picking up pretty ornaments. Brightly painted glass ornaments with 1950's style add a big pop of color to a tree and a big dose of nostalgia. Look for hand-blown sets on Ebay or your local thrift shop. Many companies are also making vintage-inspired ornaments that get you a similar look without the hunt. Hang these on your tree, put them in little bowls throughout the house, and give them as gifts. Just make sure you store ornaments carefully! In fact, "winter bedroom aesthetic" searches were up a whopping 510 percent this year. The key to nailing this look is bringing in soft layers. Choose bedding in assorted neutrals with pops of pastels (think pink). Go for textures like woven throws, faux fur blankets, and embroidered pillowcases to make the whole thing feel luxe. Don't forget about cute throw pillows! They don't have to say Merry Christmas on them, but pieces with metallic accents or snowflake-inspired shapes go a long way to make a bed feel festive. "Glam Christmas tree" searches were up 180 percent from last year! Use a mixture of silver and gold ornaments, garland, and toppers to get a magical, maximalist tree. Or go with a theme—Anthropologie brought a celestial element to their show-stopping tree by adding perforated metal crescent moon ornaments and gold star garland. Adding some shimmer and sparkle works on real trees, fake trees, and brings a major dose of style to mini trees. 62 Creative and Elegant Christmas Decoration Ideas Was this page helpful?
