Each recalled product bears the establishment number “P-33944” on the back of the package. The following items are subject to recall: 22-oz. The 10 Foods Most Linked to Recalls and Disease Outbreaks The recalled chicken products were distributed nationwide, and sold at grocery stores including Target, Kroger, and more. The recalled chicken was also sold online directly to consumers via retailers and ButcherBox.The FSIS noted that the issue that led to this recall was discovered after Perdue Foods received consumer complaints about metal wire pieces embedded in some of their chicken products. While there have been no reports yet of illness or injury related to this recall, the FSIS is “concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers.” Therefore, shoppers who have purchased the recalled items are being urged not to consume them. Instead, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
