Real Simple's Editorial Guidelines Published on September 12, 2024 03:00AM EDT Photo: Real Simple / Reese Herrington I have a knack for finding recipes that require more chopping than any one person should ever do. Instead of simply choosing something else, I waltz through my grocery store picking up every ingredient I’ll need to make it happen. More often than not, that means I end up purchasing (much more expensive) pre-prepped vegetables to save myself a little time. I was fed up with my pricy habit because I knew there had to be a better way, so I’m so excited to share my current kitchen obsession: this $23 vegetable and fruit chopper. Whether it’s cooking or baking, I love getting creative in the kitchen. But I tend to laugh at prep times when there’s lots of chopping required because I don’t have the knife skills to cut up vegetables for stews, soups, or frittatas quickly. I knew there had to be another, more affordable, way to enjoy the meal prep process. So, I finally decided to scoop up a vegetable chopper from Cuisinart, one of my favorite kitchen brands—and it has quickly become my kitchen MVP. Cuisinart Vegetable and Fruit Chopper Amazon $23 at Amazon The Cuisinart chopper makes cutting up vegetables quicker and neater, thanks to two interchangeable dicing blades, a 4.5-cup collection container, and a cleaning brush that are all included in the set. My favorite thing about the chopper is how easy it is to use. I simply choose between the large or small dicing blade, slide my choice into place, put my vegetable on the blade, and press down on the chopper’s cover. The process takes seconds, and the result is a container filled with perfectly-diced vegetables ready for me to mix with the rest of my recipe’s ingredients. Not only is the chopper easy to use, but it’s also quick to clean. The included brush allows me to safely and easily clean out the blades without having to touch the sharp edges with my fingers. Plus, the entire chopper is dishwasher-safe, and I can pop both of the blades as well as the brush inside of the chopper for easy storing. Trying new recipes brings me joy, and I never want to shy away from whipping up something I’m excited about because there’s too much chopping involved. So, I’m thrilled that I finally got the $23 Cuisinart Vegetable and Fruit Chopper. It saves me time and money, and prevents me from putting my lackluster knife skills to the test. I highly recommend it, but there’s a few other choppers from Amazon included below.
