Few rooms are more fun to dream up than kids’ spaces. There’s just something about a childhood bedroom or play area that begs for a bit of joyful irreverence, inviting you to lean into creativity and go bolder with your color palette and design choices. That said, children’s rooms also necessitate a whole different type of decor product—something with a focus on organization and functionality that can also stand up to the daily wear and tear of, well, kids.

Needless to say, that’s a tricky line to toe, but West Elm Kids always hits the mark for us. Their newest line, designed in collaboration with author and Instagram VP Eva Chen, represents that kid-first ethos perfectly. Chen is a mother of three, so you know she has fought all the common parenthood battles, from a dress-up bin overflowing with costumes to a minefield of Lego pieces scattered on the floor. Her solution? Team up with West Elm to collab on a playful kids line that keeps organization at the forefront of product design, with funky hues and geometric shapes that every member of Gen Alpha will love.

Below, we’re rounding up five of our favorite organizational pieces from the new launch—available in stores and online beginning September 5—that’ll help you score big bonus points with the littlest members of your household.

Eva Chen Lofted Bed With Reading Nook

The cornerstone of Chen’s collection is this standout lofted bed, which is as cool as it is functional. Made from Fair Trade and FSC-certified wood, the double-decker piece boasts open shelf storage at the base, perfect for storing books or other childhood collectibles. To the left is a cozy reading nook, which fits a coordinating floor cushion and touts a cut-out for a charging or lamp cord, while the right side has an integrated ladder for easy access to the twin mattress up top. There are even extra cubbies on the side for school awards, figurines, and more.

Eva Chen 6-Drawer Dresser

When it comes to kid’s spaces, a piece of furniture that performs a singular task just won’t cut it. Perhaps that’s why Chen and the West Elm team gave this expansive 56-inch 6-drawer dresser an upgrade, adding an inset bookshelf to the side to hold favorite bedtime reads. The piece itself is also super adorable (and super durable), with butter-yellow handles and legs that give it a whimsical touch.

Eva Chen Save-As Storage Shelf

Shelving is a must-have in any kid’s room, whether it’s for housing favorite library books, Star Wars figurines, or puzzles. This piece boasts an extra-thoughtful touch, with a series of flat pull-out shelves that can easily house mid-progress projects, like half-built Legos or half-done puzzles, for safekeeping. Want to keep something out of sight? The drawer at the base provides the perfect spot.

Eva Chen Small Wardrobe

Whether your child’s room is without a closet or you just need a spot to hold pretend play gear, this petite wardrobe is sure to come in handy (and look incredibly adorable while doing so). Sized at an approachable 22 inches wide, its small footprint means it can work in nearly any space, while still touting plenty of room for hanging clothes and storing gear. A sturdy wood rod spans the top, while two shelves grant plenty of space for kicks. There are even hooks on the side for hats, belts, or other accessories!

Eva Chen Cotton Storage Basket

“There’s just too much good storage in this house," said no parent ever. Give your little ones a spot to stash stuffies, blocks, books, and collectibles in this soft-sided bin. The 10-inch by 10-inch cotton design is flexible and easy to clean—it’s actually sized to fit perfectly in the cubbies of the lofted bed from Chen’s collection but is just as useful throughout a bedroom or playroom, too.
