This Rattan Storage Cabinet Is My Best Amazon Find to Date—and It’s Less Than $100

I live in a tiny New York apartment, which means I have to make the most of every single inch of space within my home. Recently, I became fixated with the idea of wanting to fill in an awkward empty space near the door of my home office. There wasn’t enough space for a dresser or even a petite bookcase, but I wanted something that could look good while also offering storage space.

After a weeks-long hunt through the depths of online furniture shops, I finally came across this Hiwelldas rattan storage cabinet. It was the perfect length and depth for the odd space in my home, and it would give me several new shelves to store my books and board games. At less than $100, I was a bit hesitant that this might be too good to be true, but then I built it.

Let’s just say that this piece of furniture looks far more expensive than it is. I decided not to attach the wheels that came with it, and you can’t even tell they’re supposed to be there at all. The set even comes with several wood-colored stickers to camouflage nails that may be seen on the outer frame. It’s only been in my home for a month and I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments on it.

In addition to being easy to build, it’s also very sturdy and has, for the most part, withstood both of my cats jumping onto it. Unfortunately, one of them has begun scratching the rattan. If it weren’t for their new bad habit, this would be perfect. 

The cabinet fits perfectly in my awkward space and has added a ton of much-needed storage to my space. The inside shelf is adjustable and I managed to fit almost fifty paperback novels inside it. The upper drawer is not fastened to a metal roller and is a little flimsy if you’re not careful when you open it, but it’s a great catch-all for scrapbooks, rogue wires, and more.

While I’m using the cabinet for extra book and board game storage, others have transformed it into a super chic bar cart, mini coffee bar, entryway table, or additional bathroom storage. You could also easily buy two of these and use them as a console table beneath your TV. It turns out that the sizing of the cabinet is a huge selling point for others with awkward spaces in their house.

One reviewer said that this “fit perfectly and the depth is just right for the space-saving K-cup coffee maker and coffee condiment organizers.” Another reviewer, who said they would “definitely recommend” this, said they love the “beautiful coloring” and that this “is pretty sturdy.”

Overall, I’m over the moon with my purchase. I love that the brand has several other storage options for different spaces as well, including nightstands and larger cabinets with extra drawers. I’d definitely buy another from them in the future. In fact, I’m already trying to see if I have anything that needs to be replaced.
